A round porcelain dish in the style of the Compagnie des Indes with polychrome decoration in Famille Rose enamels of a deer near a pierced rock in bloom supporting a bowl of fruit, the wing decorated with floral lambrequins on a pink background.

The Samson factory prospered over four generations during the 19th and early 20th centuries. Their production testifies to their interest in ancient ceramics and Chinese porcelain. The factory was very successful at the World Fairs of 1867 and 1889.
