FIVE BLACK-PAINTED VASES DATE: IV-III century BC. MATERIAL AND TECHNIQUE: pinkish figulina clay, shiny black paint with metallic reflections, modelled on a quick lathe. Skyphos with truncated cone-shaped body, ring-shaped foot and horizontal stick-like handles, decorated in red paint with wave-shaped meander and interrupted meander above a band with horizontal olive shoot; skyphos with slightly everted rim, truncated cone-shaped body, ring-shaped foot, band-like handles set horizontally under the rim; skyphos with brim, cylindrical neck, ovoid body, flat bottom, ribbon handle, set on the rim and shoulder, cup with oblique sloping rim and truncated cone foot, single-handled cup with slightly recessed rim and ring foot (5) PRODUCTION: Apulian black glazed pottery STATE OF CONSERVATION: intact, with the exception of the overpainted skyphos, reassembled DIMENSIONS: h. from cm 8,5 to cm 3,5; diam. from cm 9,5 to cm 6,5 ORIGIN: Bertolami Fine Arts, Rome, 2017.
