First collective edition under the title of "La Comédie humaine": in addition to numerous texts in the original edition, it presents the definitive form of the texts reworked one last time by Balzac. A complete copy of all the hors-texte engravings, including the 6 engravings of volume 13 (given in volume 20), the portrait of Balzac (t.17) and the rare frontispiece (t.20), i.e. 154 engravings in total. All volumes are dated correctly. A copy in excellent condition in a contemporary binding, practically free of foxing.
