A painter trained in the workshop of his father Francken the Elder, he was the most outstanding of the dynasty. The figures in his compositions have elegant manners and a peculiar typology. In general he produced cabinet paintings, biblical stories and mythologies. His workshop was very prolific. He collaborated with painters such as Jan Brueghel, Neefs and Momper. In this case, although it deals with a biblical passage, the artist develops a courtly theme with a profusion of characters and ornamental elements that allow him to show his pictorial and compositional skill in an excellent work of brilliant colour and great decorative quality. Signed in the lower central part . Oil on board.56,5 x 41,5 cm
