From the confluence of great masters such as Dalí, Ponç and Brossa, Ruestes blurs the limits of matter to erect an introspective journey in search of a spiritual dialogue. His sculptures, forged in iron and with burnished finishes, make his art truly precious objects. Seduced by Gargallo and Julio González, Ruestes gives the rigidity of certain materials supernatural qualities under a fleshy, docile and elastic appearance. He has created a creative universe of deep-rooted abstraction where the gestural forms of enigmatic expression are the result of a long process of experimentation with texture and matter. His work forms part of important collections, such as MACBA and the Vila Casas Foundation.
