New edition of this work by the Italian Dominican Casto I. Ansaldi (1710-1780). In conflict with his order, he led an erratic life throughout Italy, from convent to convent; he taught theology in Naples, Brescia, Ferrara. Originally published in Brescia in 1743 under the title De diis multarum gentium Romam evocatis, the work is devoted to the study of ancient religions and the mysteries of paganism.
