A PAIR OF 19TH CENTURY FRENCH JACOB PETIT STYLE PORCELAIN VASES DEPICTING BIBLICAL SCENES in the Neo-Rococo taste, one painted with a scene depicting the Judith seducing Holofernes, the other with Rebecca offering Eliezer water from the well at Nahor, the reverse painted with floral bouquets, on a burgundy ground, with gilt decorated scallop edges, raised on scrolling shell cast bases over rectangular integral plinths, with metal liners, 38cm high Reference: A similar pair of porcelain vases depicting identical scenes were sold at Christie's, 20 October 2009, New York, lot 220.
