Pierre LUSSON and Jacques ROUBAUD. Small treatise inviting to the discovery of the subtle art of go. Paris, Christian Bourgois, 1969. In-8, paperback. First edition.
One of 30 copies on alfa foam, the only large paper.
Le Petit traité de Lusson, Perec et Roubaud is the first book in French published on the game of go, born from the observation that "there is no book in France giving in a clear, complete and precise way, the rules of the game of go. The aim of this modest work is to fill this gap", announces the foreword.
It was Claude Chevalley who taught the rules of the ancient Chinese strategy game, then "practically unknown in France", to Jacques Roubaud, who in turn trained Georges Perec and Pierre Lusson, and founded with them one of the first French go clubs.
