Copper to O.F. von Richter, Wallfahrten im Morgenlande. 15 fol. copper engravings. (partly printed in brown with aquatint, 1822). Qu.fol. lots. Tobler 142 - rare plate part to Richter's remarkable travel description, compiled posthumously from diaries and letters by Ewers. The first 5 sheets engraved by C. Senff after Richter's designs, only these sheets with the names. They show the ruins of Salamen a. Bosra (4, among them 2 with ground plan a. column detail); the remaining sheets with views of Laodicea, Castro on Samothrace, monastery Lawra/Athos, Lemnos a. o. as well as "St. Chrysostom's Monastery.... (&) Bufavento or Rianeh on Cyprus" (Byzantine Medieval Cyprus, fig. p. 268). As here complete, the portrait listed in the index as no. 1 belonged in the text volume as a frontispiece. - In the w. In the white margins somewhat strongly spotted and dusted, illustrations mostly clean. - With 15 sheets copper engravings. Loose. Margins stained and dusty, images mostly clean.
