Baltard was originally a landscape painter, on his travels to Italy he was so impressed by the beauty of the Italian buildings that he now devoted himself to architecture. - The plates with protective covers, slightly foxed, 6 plates slightly coloured. Mirror and endpapers with glue shadow. - From Wittelsbach estates, with bookplate and stamp. - With aquatint frontispiece and 48 aquatint plates. Contemporary half leather. Slight foxing.
