First edition of this drama "unanimously received by the reading committee of the Comédie-Française, read and distributed to the artists, and forbidden by ministerial measure of December 18, 1889.
UNIQUE EDITION, enriched with 8 original watercolours by the draughtsman and illustrator Henri de STA (1846-1920), two of which are full-page and six in the margins.
Six of the author's visiting cards have also been added, each containing autograph notes addressed to Gaston Calmette, director of the Figaro, as well as a corrected proof of the poem À l'empereur Frédéric III, which will be included in the collection Les Paroles sincères in 1891.
