[THEATRICAL CARICATURES]. Set of 7 albums of theatrical caricatures: - Dummy album of caricatures. Large volume in-4, black cloth. Important unique album probably made in the 40s-50s, offering several thousand caricatures of French personalities of the entertainment world of the first half of the twentieth century, extracted from newspapers and various publications, pasted on 400 pages. Among the caricaturists are Don, Pavil, Bib, Bécan, Carlo Rim, Pol Rab, Rouveyre, Jean Oberlé, Georges Bastia, Touchagues, Jan Mara, Ben, etc. - GEOFFROY (Henry). Gestes et Profils. Preceded by a Study by Urbain Gohier. Paris: Charles Davis, [1906]. - In-8, grey cloth-backed boards, label printed in red and black on the first cover. Edition printed at 500 copies, including 35 caricatures by Henry GEOFFROY of personalities of the political, literary and artistic world of the beginning of the century. Light staining and tear to the cloth on the spine. Provenance: Albert de Lavedan de Casaubon, with bookplate. - GRANVAL (Charles). From the Comédie Française to the Boulevards. Preface by Jules Claretie. Paris : Société d'éditions littéraires et artistiques, 1906. - In-8, paperback. First edition with a preface by Jules Claretie, including 62 color caricatures of the main actors and actresses of the beginning of the century, drawn by the member of the Comédie-Française Charles Granval (1882-1943). First edition of this collection of hundreds of black caricatures by Léon LEGAT of early 20th century theatre personalities, taken from Le Monde Illustré, L'Officiel des Théâtres, Gil Blas, Revue du Tourisme et des Sports, Le Très curieux, La Vie Théâtrale, La Gazette de la Capitale and Les Grandes Modes de Paris Cover soiled, tears and lacks on the back. - GOURSAT (Victor). Album containing 30 plates of colour portrait-charges of personalities from the world of entertainment at the beginning of the 20th century, including Denis d'Inès, Lucien Guitry, Gaby Morlay, Réjane, Maurice Donnay, Maurice Rostand, Berthe Cerny, Polaire, etc. Strong vellum paper glued later to the inside of the cover to reinforce it, tears to the spine, repairs to the inside of the flap. - BEDOC (Fred). In Alceste's chair. Saison 1922-1923. Paris : Presses Françaises, [1923]. - In-8, paperback. First edition of this album of more than 70 caricatures in black and in colors by Fred BEDOC, each accompanied by a quatrain. Edition at 1600 copies. This is one of the 1500 copies on vellum pur fil (n° 141), enriched with a letter from the artist on the false title : " Very nice // tribute from the author // to the most kind // bibliophile // Fred Bedoc " . A well preserved copy. - BOURET (Marcel). Allo ! Allo ! here, the wave. Monte-Carlo : Les Beaux livres, 1952. - In-12, illustrated edition cardboard. Rare autograph booklet prefaced by Saint-Granier, decorated with 77 caricatures of artists by Marcel Bouret with captions by Marcel Fort. A perfectly preserved copy.
