BRUANT (Aristide). [Collections of songs]. Paris, 1889-1909. - 6 works in-16, paperback, in two red morocco spine folders and a slipcase (Boichot). Set of songbooks published by Aristide Bruant, including : - Dans la Rue. Chansons & Monologues. Paris : Aristide Bruant, [1889]. - In-16, 207 pp, illustrated cover. Paperback. First edition illustrated with numerous compositions by STEINLEN on the cover and in the text. Copy enriched with the unsigned manuscript of the song Une drôle d'aventure by Bruant, 3 pages in-12, with erasures and corrections, accompanied by a blue sheet bearing the following handwritten indications: "Paris Septembre 1875 - Musique de C. Carbonnier en Octobre 1875 - Déclarée timbrée le 30 Juillet 1876". The original title of the song, Pourquoi qu'ça n'marche guère, is crossed out and replaced by the final title Une drôle d'aventure. This song does not appear in the collection. Even if it has similarities with Bruant's writing, the manuscript does not seem to be in his hand. - Dans la Rue. Second volume. Songs and monologues. Paris : Aristide Bruant, [1889]. - In-16, 207 pp, (1 blank page), illustrated cover. First edition illustrated with a colour cover and numerous black compositions in the text, by STEINLEN. Copy on publisher's paper, enriched with a second false title bearing a dedication by the author to Yvette Guilbert, and two postcards illustrated with a colour composition by Aristide Bruant. The added false title is restored and lined with japon pelure. The first and last leaves have been glued to the cover. - Dans la Rue. Third volume. Songs and Monologues. Paris : Librairie Ernest Flammarion, [1895]. - In-16, 207 pp. illustrated cover. Paperback. First edition illustrated with numerous compositions by POULBOT including one in colour on the cover. Copy enriched with a small L.A.S. from Aristide Bruant, 1 page in-16, addressed to his "dear Oscar" referring to Oscar Météni- Sur la Route. Songs and monologues. Château de Courtenay : Aristide Bruant, [1897]. - In-16, (1 blank f.), 206 pp, (2 last blank ff.), illustrated cover. Paperback. First edition illustrated with numerous compositions by Louis BORGEX. Copy on edition paper, enriched with this mailing on the false title: Souvenir du // plus ancien Cabaret // de Montmartre - (1885-1937) // et du radio reportage sur la // boîte où l'on engueule // Avec mes sincères amitiés, à Monsieur // Georges Aubert // 12 Juin 1937 // Le "môme" BruantThis mailing is obviously not from the author's hand, who died in 1937. - BRUANT (Aristide) - LEBRETON (Benjamin). Copies preserved in two modern folders, to the back covers of which have been glued an original drawing signed by Poulbot accompanying the autograph manuscript of two excerpts from the song P'tit-gris appearing in the 1895 collection Dans la rue, a prospectus of the Cabaret Aristide Bruant, and an original watercolour on cardboard paper, signed Bellanger.
