BEAUMARCHAIS (Pierre-Augustin Caron de). Complete works. Paris : Léopold Collin, 1809. - 7 volumes in-8, 204 x 125: portrait, (3 ff.), 557 pp. 14 plates; (2 ff.), 615 pp, 11 plates; (2 ff.), xvj, 512 pp; (2 ff.), 622 pp; (2 ff.), 447 pp; (2 ff.), xvj, 599 pp; (2 ff.), 312, lx pp. blond calf, double gilt fillet and gilt roulette on boards, smooth spine decorated, gilt gilt roulette inside, gilt edges (F. Bozérian jeune). First complete edition published by the playwright Paul-Philippe Gudin de La Brenellerie (1738-1820), friend and historian of Beaumarchais. It is decorated with a portrait of the author and 25 plates, all engraved by Gautier after copies of those of Saint-Quentin for the figures of Le Mariage de Figaro and after Gravelot for those of Eugénie. Copy on wove paper including the illustrations printed before the letter, complete with the list of subscribers at the end of the last volume. Bound at the time by François Bozérian, called the young, it comes from the library of the playwright and director of the Opéra-Comique René Charles Guilbert de Pixérécourt (1773-1844). Hinges and headpieces restored, some corners dulled. Some foxing. In volume 3, the last leaf, containing the table, has been bound after the title. Provenance: Guilbert de Pixérécourt, with ex-libris (cat. 1838, n° 1697). Attached: - ROYER (Clément de). Study on the memoirs of Beaumarchais.
