First edition of this remarkable album dedicated to the Russian ballet dancer Tamar Karsavina. It begins with 15 poems by Jean-Louis Vaudoyer and includes 16 compositions by George BARBIER, one of which is in black and bronze on the cover, 3 in black, one of which is on the title and 2 full-page, and 12 plates colored with stencil representing the dancer in her greatest roles.
Edition of 512 copies. This one is one of the 500 on Arches vellum, not numbered, justified by a red stamp representing one of the artist's drawings.
This copy is enriched with an autograph letter signed by Vaudoyer and Barbier, addressed to Marie Scheikévitch (1882-1964), a personality of the Parisian literary and artistic world, who had married the musician Pierre Carolus-Duran. She was a friend and correspondent of Marcel Proust.
