Ève LAVALLIÈRE (1866-1929). Photograph with autograph dedication, 1915; 26 x 15 cm in a brocaded silk and passementerie frame (47 x 31 cm). Beautiful photograph by Reutlinger of the full-length actress in the role of Prince Orlovsky in Johann Strauss' The Bat at the Théâtre des Variétés in 1904, dedicated to Dr. Samuel Pozzi (1846-1918): "To the great master! To my dear Doctor Pozzi. Words cannot express what I think, so I'll just tell you that I love you with all my heart. Ève Lavallière June 30, 1915 Magnificent period frame, bearing the signature of M. Boyer, Avenue de l'Opéra; bordered with a gold guilloche braid, it presents a rich decoration in relief, formed of gilded nets and branches embellished with pink, pale green and jonquil silk flowers. The back of the frame (partly removable) and the foot are entirely covered with sandalwood brocade silk.
