Sacha GUITRY (1885-1957). Autograph manuscript, La Nuit d'avril, [1932]; 4 pages large in-4 (35 x 27 cm). Working manuscript of a first version of La Nuit d'avril, a short play composed by Sacha Guitry for the anniversary of his thirty years in the theatre, and performed during a dinner at the George V Hotel gathering the author's friends on 15 April 1932. It features the Poet (Guitry) and the Muse (Yvonne Printemps). The manuscript, with numerous erasures and corrections, presents a primitive version, very different from the final text. "Three o'clock in the morningThursday , April 14, 1932! Thursday... Thursday..."... A drawing signed by BECAN (Indian ink, 22 x 14 cm, pasted on), caricature of Guitry and Yvonne Printemps (plus a caricature printed by C. Abin) is attached .
