Part of the studio collection of Henri GUILLOT (1895-1982). A qualified architect and decorator, Henri GUILLOT worked on numerous projects for private mansions and apartments in France, but also in Cuba and the United States. He collaborated with Jules LELEU and Jacques-Emile RUHLMANN in the 1930s, and with the PERINET house in Paris. But GUILLOT was also a painter. He exhibited at the Salon d'Automne from 1920, alongside André LHOTE, Ramiro ARRUE, Félix VaLLOTTON, Louis VALTAT and Maurice DENIS. His works, and particularly his oils, reflect these influences from which emerges his own style, built up over the course of his many travels: Vernon with its famous bridge which he painted on several occasions, Honfleur, Paris, the South and its perched villages (Auribeau etc). The Renou Poyet gallery in Paris devoted an exhibition to him in 1983. Part of his studio collection was dispersed by the Etude Chayette-Cheval at Drouot in 2014. In turn, this sale of another part of his studio allows us to rediscover a work in its diversity: themes, techniques.
