Three black-lacquered photo albums
The first folding album contains 52 B&W photographs with legends, some dated 1903, illustrating the German, French, Russian and English branches in Hankow, the temple in Ouchang, the Hankow station, the train, the steamboats, scenes of daily life around town and along the roadway.
The second album is Italian format, containing 178 B&W photographs, mostly without legends, illustrating scenes of daily life, towns and villages, processions, temples, crowds, etc.
The third, titled "China 1904" is large Italian format, containing 154 B&W large or medium format photographs, illustrating the construction of the railway from 1904 to 1905, some with legends such as "entrance to the tunnel at km 549", "Yellow River, southern bank, 24 August 1904, part of the service bridge destroyed by the current", etc.
Great iconographic wealth: construction, bridges, theatre, fur seller, building interiors, river, Chinese families, etc.
