Swiss, ca. 1650.
Pressed cow-horn, flat shape with rounded top and bottom edges, decorative grooves. Gilt brass mounts; oval bottom-piece, screwed; cone-shaped middle piece; screwed lid with smooth, round spout; pivotable closure arm with lid and spring. The lid has an opening with a sliding cover for refilling the horn. All the metal surfaces feature opulently engraved chased decoration. Two carrying rings.
L 22.5 cm.
