H. A. Josse, Paris, Galerie Georges Petit, 28-29 May 1894, lot 161 Our bookcase, with a tilting edge, has a book tray inlaid with trellises with fl eurons. It comes from the Josse collection (fi g. 1-2). The rectilinear lateral supports with openwork geometric motifs are joined by a spacer bar centred on a circular tabletop surrounded by an openwork gilt bronze balustrade of interlaced circles on skate feet. A rich decoration presents on all sides medallions with a green background decorated with "antique" scenes in the Wedgwood style, alternated with gilded bronze "piastres", centered with rosettes.
