Estimate :
200 - 270 EUR

A Stonyridge Waiheke Island bottle, vintage 2004. Stonyridge Vineyard. Category: red wine. Ostend, Waiheke Island (New Zealand). Level: A. 750 ml. Stonyridge Vineyard is a world-renowned Cabernet blend producer, based on Waiheke Island in New Zealand: it combines traditional winemaking with meticulous organic viticulture. Stonyridge is sited in a north-facing valley, 1km from Onetangi Beach to the north and Putiki Bay to the south. It is protected from the cold south-westerly winds by Stonyridge, a long ridge running from one coast to the other. The first Bordeaux vines and olive trees were planted in 1982 by Stephen White, helped by family and close friends. In 1984, Stephen returned to Bordeaux for the last training period and completed the vintage at Château d'Angludet, Cantenac-Margaux supervised by Peter Sichel. Stephen White produced the first vintage at Stonyridge Vineyard in 1985. Two years later, he crafted the great 1987 Larose that shot Stonyridge to national fame: a wine hailed as possibly the finest red wine ever made in New Zealand.
