(active in Antwerp between 1640 and 1656)
Brawl in a tavern
Oil on canvas, 33X38 cm
Anthony Victorijns was active in Antwerp and his production shows style characteristics close to those of Van Ostade. The catalogue certainly has very few works, as it is assumed that many compositions attributed to him were the product of a workshop that was probably active in the orbit of Ostade. These creations maintain an excellent level of qualitative coherence and generally depict interior scenes, set in taverns, according to the peculiar Dutch tradition.
The work is accompanied by an expert opinion by Ferdinando Arisi.
