Rare "Gay-Guenot" rifle with rotating chain magazine, 40 rounds, 11 mm caliber . Steel frame, plain, with flat sides, with safety on the left side. Chain magazine sight with sliding shutter on top. Stock in drowning numbered with the iron "289". Length: 96 cmN° 12*B .E . (Missing the point of sights) Carries a pastille of collection N° 231. Provenance: Former Marsan collection, n° 231Gay Paulin, civil engineer and inventor of multiple shot weapons, known as pocket machine guns, revolvers and rifles with 25, 40, 50 and 100 shots (1879) . Dealer: Henri GUENOT, 183 rue Saint-Denis (Paris). It seems that GAY is the true inventor of the system with chain, called system Guycot (Lewis Winant). GAY & GUENOT patented it in London on 17 January 1879.
