PARIS 1677 - 1680
Chalice and paten in embossed, cast and chased vermeil. The foot of the chalice is embossed with an acanthus frieze bordered with pearls, the top of the foot with three angels' heads alternating with instruments of the passion on an amatized background (crown of thorns, sponge, cross and sword, pincers and hammer) as a reminder of the false chalice (completed with the ladder, the whip, the rods). The stem is an ovoid knot with three angels' heads alternating with falling fruit. On the reverse side of the paten is the crowning of the virgin molded with pearls, in molten vermeil reported.
