Stoneware, light grey body, brown engobed, "Cologne brown" salt glazed. The body with a geometric decoration of circles with a beaded band in relief and interspersed crosses in relief as well as a pewter lid mounting with a thumb latch. The maker's mark "Reinhold Merkelbach Grenzhausen" and the embossed model number "2179" on the underside.
Year of design: around 1910.
