Arno Drescher, Steep coast on Rügen. Late 1930s. Arno Drescher1882 Auerbach/Vogtland - 1971 Brunswick Oil on cardboard. Signed in lead "A. Drescher" on the lower left. At the back side with a fragmentary portrait of a gentleman in oil. Provenance: From the artist's estate. O. Margin with three lacks in the o. painting board layer. Inconspicuous, shiny binder's stain mi. Few glue residues at the lower edge of the picture. At the back side lesions by former mounting and paper glue rests as well as pencil marking line from the work process. Dimensions: 19,2 x 20,1 cm. Arno Drescher 1882 Auerbach/Vogtland - 1971 Braunschweig From 1902-05 active as a teacher. Afterwards until 1909 art studies in Dresden with Richard Mebert a. Richard Guhr. 1911 marriage with Elise Goller, daughter of Josef Goller. Took over a lectureship in Dresden and became professor in 1919. From 1941-45 director at the state academy for graphic arts and book trade in Leipzig. From 1960 he worked as a freelance painter and graphic artist in Braunschweig. As a graphic artist he created various advertising designs for Audi and Hachez Chocoladen.
