German artist, Portrait of a gentleman. Probably around 1820/1830.
Oil on canvas. Unsigned. Framed in profiled wooden moulding.
Canvas with deformations at the lower corners. Stretcher frame renewed. Painting layer with age craquelure and climatic edge. Retouching in the facial parts and in the background at a closed and backed canvas tear. Painting layer abrasion and small missing parts in the fold area.
Dimensions: 70 x 62 cm, overall 90 x 76 cm.
