VERONESE, Paolo (after) Christ meeting the wife and the sons of Zebedee. 18th c Drawing, pen and grey ink, with grey wash heightened with white, traces of black chalk, 41 x 65,5 cm, laid paper (on two sheets), unsigned (laid down on paper, sm. defects at corners and edges). Under passe-partout. Christ and six of his Apostles at the entrance of a temple, approached by Zebedee's wife and one of his sons (Mat 20:20). A copy after a painting by the Venetian painter Veronese of 1565, now in the collection of the Musée de Grenoble (inv. MG6).
