RAPHAEL (after) The Holy Family with a lamb. 18th c Drawing, black chalk, 15,5 x 13,5 cm, laid paper, unsigned (laid down on paper mount by four corners). Under passe-partout. After the famous Raphael painting, now in the Museo del Prado Madrid (P000296). The painting itself was based on a preparatory drawing by Leonardo da Vinci for the main altar at the Basilica della Santissima Annunziata in Florence. In 1703 it entered Spain’s Royal Collection, which is probably where the artist of this drawing saw the painting.
