A bottle of Deutz Blanc de Blancs champagne, 1998. Category: brut champagne. A.O.C. Reims. This vintage blanc de blancs is rich in nuances, coming from the different Chardonnays chosen from different plots. It stands out for its elegant range of floral and fruity aromas, for its structure and complexity, where mineral notes are especially distinguished. Made from Chardonnay from the vineyards of Avize, Le Mesnil sur Oger, Villers-Marmery mainly, and around 7% from the terroirs of Cramant, Oger and Chouilly. Mineral notes appear on the nose followed by white flowers, honey and almonds. The palate is soft, sweet with a slight acidity that gives it structure. Elegant, long and structured. A real jewel in the Champagne vineyard, the Deutz house claims a "classicism" based on the best traditions and a deep knowledge of the terroir and varieties.
