Casanova de Seingalt. Une aventure d'amour à Venise. Paris, Le Livre du Bibliophile, 1927. 4°. XIII, 163 pp, 3 ll, woodcuts in text and 8 color etchings on plates by Gerda Wegener (1886-1940) as a prominent contribution to Art déco with numerous original inserts. Obrosch. Monod 2334. - Copy d'Artiste, numbered 2/2, signed André Lambert (1884-1967), who transferred the watercolors by Gerda Wegener into color etchings, in the service of prominent women's art, here to refer to the Danish illustrator and painter Gerda Wegener, who married the artist Lili Elbe in 1904 (marriage annulled by the Danish king in 1930), what caused a great sensation at that time. Her illustrations to Casanova - total edition 488 copies - represent a rank contribution to Art déco - To the present copy a total of 51 prints of different color states are loosely enclosed: 9 color etchings in final state, 12 etchings in decomposition, 30 etchings in two colors on China and further different papers - Cf. cat.-no. 706.
