Architectural monuments. - A. Schütz (ed.). The Renaissance in Italy. A collection of the most valuable surviving monuments arranged in chronological order. 4 vols. First edition, Hbg. 1886-88. fol. Each with title and index, at the beginning additional dedication leaf for Jacob Burckhardt, and altogether 400 collotype plates. 4 folders. The extensive collective work divided into: Early Renaissance / High Renaissance / Decoration in Wood / Decoration in Stone and Terra Cotta. - The collective work of the Berlin architect Alexander Schütz (1847-1892) is a homage to Italy: views and documentation of high rank, not only in the selection of motifs, but also in the technical production, finally also in the participation of the photographers. Some of them were still active in the early days of photography, among them C. Naya, G. Rossi, P. Lombardi, G. Sommer, E. van Lint, F. Poppi and the German Richard (Ricardo) Lotze, who settled in Verona - all of them can be looked up in Auers "photographers encyclopaedia international", 1992. The work was published in deliveries, and often everyday life and street scenes play into the construction and factual photographs. This has resulted in a work whose content has been enriched over time as old conditions have disappeared. Boards as hot off the press, folders tls. Traces of use.
