A RARE WILLIAM AND MARY GREEN JAPANNED CHEST ON STAND C.1690-1700 the front with raised gilt chinoiserie decoration, with figures, birds, buildings and flowers, the sides with cranes, with a cushion drawer above three short and three long graduated drawers, the stand fitted with an arrangement of four drawers, on turned tapering legs united by a peripheral stretcher 179.5cm high, 107cm wide, 58.3cm deep Provenance Acquired by the present owner from Alistair Sampson Antiques, 156 Brompton Road, London, 20th September 1983, originally exhibited at the Grosvenor House Antiques Fair, June 1983 and illustrated in the catalogue.
