Classicist lidded vase - KPM Berlin, 19th c., designed by Friedrich Elias Meyer in 1779, the front and back of the vase surrounded by laurel wreaths with gallant scenes after Watteau and a pair of shepherds. the fluted sides decorated with lush floral bouquets and scattered floral branches, gilded ornamental borders in relief and gold rim and staffage, gold abrasion in places due to the time, above the foot a coloured lotus border, correspondingly floral painted high domed plug-in lid crowned by a full round eagle figure, the body of the lid restored (visible inside), h. ca. 37 cm, dm. ca. 22 cm, blurred sceptre mark, press letter "D".
