Portrait of a Poet 92 × 73 cm Oil on canvas A man dressed smartly and casually looks directly at the viewer with clear eyes and a slight smile on his lips. Over a red and gold jacket, he wears a magnificent blue-green silk velvet coat, lined with gold silk damask. His head is covered with a velvet cap of the same colour as the cloak, adorned with black feathers. Informal clothing and facial expression reveal the person as an intellectual. The person portrayed is probably a poet.
