Saint Jerome in His Study 74 × 102 cm Oil on canvas St. Hieronymus sits by candlelight in his study while writing. He rests his head on his hand. The crucifix and the skull are two of his attributes. The painting is in the tradition of the Northern European Caravaggists, as illustrated by the effective lighting of the candle and the strong shadows.
