PROTECTIVE MADONNA ON A SICKLE WITH A SOCK Probably Austria, 18th century. Wood, plastically carved, colourfully set, partly gilded, flattened on the back. Total h. 45 cm, h. 39 cm (figure). Above a trapezoidal base a full figure depiction of the Mother of God in a slightly turned posture in prayer, flanked by two putti and standing on a crescent moon. Partly damaged and remaining, wormholes, base replaced.
