HOLY JOHN Probably German, c. 1500 Wood, plastically carved, colourfully painted, partly gilded, flattened on the back. H. 61,5 cm. Full-figured depiction of St. John holding a gospel book in his hands. Damage and rest, the frame replaced. The addition of a hardwood carved capital with putti heads and mythical creatures.
