80 - François AUGIERAS alias Abdallah CHAAMBA (1925-1971), writer. Extremely rare pre-original edition of " Vieillard et l'Enfant " with autograph signed consignment. Pre-original edition, before the official one of 1954 published by Editions de Minuit. Printed in a very small number, this edition, on author's account, does not mention any publisher, only a "Printed in Belgium" (apocryphal) at the end, 138 p in-8, paperback, red band preserved with the appreciation of André Gide "The intense and strange joy I feel reading (and rereading) these remarkable pages among all". Augieras' first work, this edition was published under the name "Abdallah ChaaNba" - later he signed it "Abdallah ChaaMba". [The American Christopher Bakka, Augieras' biographer, proudly owns an identical copy with this same mailing. He confirms that the address given in Périgueux is indeed that of his family at the time he returned from his years in Algeria. According to Bakka, 100 copies of this edition were printed in Périgueux].
