FLEURY. Moeurs des Israélites et des chrétiens. Lyon, Libraires associés, 1808; in-12, VIII-408 pp. in full calf binding, spine with five raised bands, red morocco title-piece, edges painted red. Claude Fleury was a lawyer, churchman and historian of the second half of the 17th and the beginning of the 18th century. He was protected by Bossuet and Louis XIV appointed him tutor to one of his natural children, as well as sub-preceptor to three of his grandchildren. He published numerous works on history, theology, law and pedagogy. Very good condition.
