DEMOUSTIER (Charles-Albert). Letters to Émilie on mythology. Paris, Chez Antoine-Augustin Renouard, 1809; in-12, frontispiece, X-127 + 120 + 96 + 105 + 112 + 150 pp. bound in full contemporary brown calf, smooth spine decorated, gilt edges, fillet on the boards. The 6 parts bound in 3 volumes. Work composed in six parts. Charles-Albert Demoustier, born in Villers-Cotterets in 1760, began his career as a lawyer, before embracing a literary career. He published in 1798 these "Lettres à Emilie sur la mythologie" (Letters to Emilie on mythology), which soon became a great success. He died suddenly in 1801. Illustrated with 36 intaglio engravings. Good condition.
