DAGHESTAN (Caucasus) carpet, late 19th century
Dimensions : 146 x 92cm.
Technical characteristics : Wool velvet on wool foundation.
The ivory field of this carpet has a honeycombed latticework and is decorated with multicolored stylized flowers and small crosses. The navy mihrab with flowers is decorated with an exuberant stylized flower. Three borders complete the whole, one brick with a double "S" suite, one with broken lines "Bayadères" and one with lady's pawns.
