"Des Etangs was Venerable of the L.*. of Trinosophes, at the 0.*. of Paris; it was from this L.*. that the best Masonic writers came out, among others the famous Ragon. Here is the Plan of the work: The True Link of Peoples, or Freemasonry returned to its true principles. - Initiations. - Receptions to the Symbolic Grades. - The H.*. G.*. - Festivals and Ceremonies Masonic *. - Baptisms Mac.*. - Inauguration of a temple. - Installation of a Ven.*. But the most interesting part of the book is the one entitled Freemasonry justified of all the slanders spread against it or Refutation of the book of Father Barruel. It contains a very well done study on the origins of the F.*. M.*., its descent from the Order of the Temple, its relationship with Illuminism, and especially the examination of the doctrine of Weishaupt: oaths of the initiates, questions for the high grades, receptions to the various grades, etc. ... The work further contains Masonic speeches*. delivered by Des Etangs in various ceremonies." Caillet 3055.
