Georges RASETTI (1851 - 1938) Bacchanal before the lake Oil on canvas signed lower right, mounted on panel. 40 x 122 cm Lifting and missing. Known for his stay in Huelgoat in the summer of 1891 where he rubbed shoulders with Paul Sérusier, Georges RASETTI adopted the aesthetic of Synthetism in some of his paintings. In our painting we find this synthetic spirit in the treatment of the characters, even if we must recognize that the painter privileges the decorative aspect of his work in shimmering colours of a liberated palette, directly resulting from the lesson of the Talisman painted by Sérusier.
