Note: German landscape painter. A student of Oswald Achenbach at the Academy of Fine Arts in Düsseldorf, he interrupted his training to join the Franco-German war of 1870. Eugen Dücker and Albert Flamm were among his teachers. William II of Germany was one of his clients.
