Collection of 18 handwritten letters and postcards with 8 mainly watercolored and monogrammed drawings to Editha von Frobel. 1937-1939. Mostly with used envelopes, including 3 unopened.
Max Frey (1874 Mühlburg near Karlsruhe - 1944 Bad Harzburg) was a graphic artist, landscape and figure painter of Symbolism and Magic Realism. In his second marriage he married his former pupil Editha von Frobel in Braunschweig in 1939. - Included: 15 letters from (daughter) Jeldi (Isolde) Frey to Max Frey. 1940-1941 - 1 photo with portrait of the artist. Vintage. Albumen print. Feb. 1903. ca. 11 x 8 cm. - 1 baby photo of Edith von Frobel. 1907. - 1 telegram from Else Miltner. 1940. - Partly browned due to paper, occasionally slightly spotted, generally in good condition.
