Art Déco - Decorative Arts - Collection of 20 magnificent original designs for Art Déco boxes by the Atelier Pichon. Each gouache on strong paper, predominantly heightened in gold or silver. All (except 1 unfinished design) inscribed with model number, mounted on cardboard and under silk chemise. - Colourful designs probably for decorative boxes with floral themes. They are made in different shapes, mostly cruciform or elliptical, and sometimes consist of two mounted leaves. The wonderfully characteristic Art Deco style is strongly influenced by Japanese art with its elegantly curved lines and artfully bridges the gap between natural, floral motifs and geometric abstraction. The ensemble is refined by the sometimes flat, sometimes filigree use of gold and silver. The mainstay of the Parisian Atelier R. Pichon was packaging for cosmetics such as soap and perfume, and the present designs were probably also created for this purpose. - Partially minimally rubbed and with atelier traces. The silk shirts and cardboards mostly slightly creased. Overall in colourful and splendid condition. Colourful designs probably for decorative boxes with floral themes.
