A VICTORIAN SILVER THREE-PIECE TEA SERVICE, by Horace Woodward & Co Ltd, London 1896, oval baluster, chased with scrolling foliage and flowers, the teapot with domed hinged cover surmounted by an ivory knop, the loop handle with ivory insulators, raised on shell-capped C-scroll feet, with vacant cartouche to each side of body, twin-handled sugar also with vacant cartouche to each side, cased; together with TWO PAIRS OF SILVER-PLATED SUGAR TONGS. (5) Teapot 24cm handle to spout, 25.4 troy ounces gross (excluding tongs)300400180Marks clear and well struck - teapot cover further struck with maker's mark, lion passant and date letter; handle struck with maker's mark, lion passant and town mark. Cover hinge slightly loose but sturdy, handle sturdy with no play. All three standing upright - very minor wobble to teapot, significant rocking to sugar. Light surface marks and scratches throughout commensurate with age and use
