Carved group in patinated oak (Restoration on the back of the base).

Born in Rennes, Nicot graduated from the Ecole Nationale Supérieure Beaux Arts in 1908 where he received classical teaching from Falguière and Mercié. In 1911, he exhibited his first Breton subject at the Salon des Artistes Français. After the war, he became one of the major Breton sculptors, and it is from 1924 that he collaborates with the Henriot Manufacture thanks to Mathurin Méheut whom he knew for a long time.
